SWH SSL CERTIFICATE

A SWH SSL Certificate is available free with your web hosting account. Although it does require an IP Address which does have a monthly fee. Installation can be requested from the Control Panel.

SSL certificates enables encryption to keep third parties from seeing the contents of your data.

You can buy SSL certificates from Commercial Certified Authorities (such as Verisign, Thawte and Equifax) for anywhere between $50 and $1000 US. The advantage is that these commercial authorities are "recognized" by your web browser, in essence guaranteeing that the information in the site's SSL certificate is valid. (We use Thawte for our commercial cert).

Alternatively we can install FREE a non-certified SSL certificate into your site to enable the encryption for privacy but not necessarily for the authenticity of your organization.

PLEASE NOTE: A free certificate of this type is not a certified certificate and the result of this will cause a pop up window alerting your users of this error. Please be sure this is ok with you, if not you will need to purchase a certified certificate.
